Methodology
How this academy is built
Fitness Science & Human Performance Academy is an independent educational platform. Each lesson follows the same template — introduction, fundamentals, the science, detailed explanation, diagrams, practical application, misconceptions, assessment tools, a case study, videos, a knowledge check, key takeaways and references — so learners always know where to find things.
Evidence levels
Every lesson carries an overall evidence label, and important claims are cited inline.
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Established consensus | Agreed by major guidelines and consistent across many high-quality studies. |
| Strong evidence | Supported by systematic reviews/meta-analyses or multiple RCTs; some details debated. |
| Emerging evidence | Promising findings from a limited number of studies; may change. |
| Limited / conflicting | Few studies, small samples or contradictory results. |
| Traditional practice | Common in practice but insufficient supporting evidence. |
Source hierarchy
- Peer-reviewed RCTs, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and relevant prospective studies.
- Guidelines and position stands from professional bodies (ACSM, NSCA, ISSN, WHO, AHA, IOC and others).
- Academic textbooks and university resources.
- Educational videos from credible educators — used for further learning, never as evidence.
Verification status
Each reference shows verified (details checked against PubMed or the publisher) or check pending (written from subject knowledge; scheduled for automated DOI checking before launch). Each video is marked verified only after a person has watched it; until then the link opens a YouTube search rather than a guessed URL. Lessons show a content status: draft (written and referenced), reviewed, or expert-validated.
Medical disclaimer and scope
This platform provides general education about exercise, fitness and nutrition. It does not diagnose, treat or replace care from physicians, physiotherapists, registered dietitians or other licensed professionals. Personal trainers and coaches should work within their scope of practice and refer when there are red-flag symptoms, unexplained pain, medical conditions, pregnancy-related concerns or medication questions.
The platform is not accredited or approved by ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM or any other certifying body. References to their syllabi or guidelines describe topic coverage only.
